Tasting Notes:

A vibrant, saturated cherry red color, with perfumed aromas of dried cranberry/Bing cherries/wild raspberry, with wisps of salted licorice, toasted black sesame seeds. The palate is seductively ripe round and supple, with flavors that echo its aromatics, but with the savory components that flow into its intensity and richness.

Awards/Notable Reviews:

95 pts Jeb Dunnuck "I loved the nose, a classic Zinfandel loaded with blue fruits, flowery incense, white pepper, and cedary spice aromas and flavors. Playing in the medium to full-bodied, elegant end of the spectrum, it has a seamless texture, light tannins, beautiful balance, and a great finish. It's a gorgeous Zinfandel from this vintage to drink over the coming 7-8 years."

93 pts Wine Enthusiast

92 pts Wine Advocate "Isabel is a delicate, Pinot Noir-esque Zinfandel with a medium ruby color. It has a pretty perfume of peaches and tricolored berry fruits with accents of dusty earth and floral perfume. The palate is medium-bodied, rounded, soft and juicy with perfumed, nuanced flavors and a long, layered finish."

Winemaker Notes:

Named for our oldest daughter Isabel who is mellow and vibrant, with music as a guiding light. To me, this is what zinfandel is all about.

The Landy Sweetwater Springs Vineyard, planted from the St. Peter’s Church Selection, is a gorgeous site ranging from 300 to 1000 ft. elevation.

This vineyard is 100% Sustainably Farmed.

I have been sourcing from this vineyard since 2007. The Zinfandel that grows here is dark and rich, as the rocky and sloping hillsides force the fruit to dig deep for nutrients, while the well drained soil brings a mineral backbone to the wine.
